DESCRIPTION:Philadelphia Ballet \nEAC opens our 22/23 season with an evening of intimate performances and conversation featuring Latino principal dancers of the Philadelphia Ballet. \nPhiladelphia Ballet’s performances at Esperanza highlight the talented company members in the Latinx/Hispanic community. The program includes three solos\, performed by Principal Dancer Nayara Lopes\, Soloist Thays Golz\, and Corps de Ballet dancer Fernanda Oliveira. Principal Dancer Mayara Pineiro and Soloist Pau Pujol will perform a pas de deux from Paquita\, in addition to an excerpt from Don Quixote performed by Principal Dancers Arian Molina Soca and Dayesi Torriente. Philadelphia Ballet’s performance will conclude with Bourbon St.\, choreographed by Artistic Director Angel Corella and Demi Soloist Russell Ducker with music by Louis Prima and the Barcelona Hot Angels. Bourbon St. is a high-energy\, character-driven work that is an homage to the nightlife of New Orleans\, and features the Lindy Hop\, a swing-era dance-craze.
