SUMMARY:Hacia La Luz
DESCRIPTION:Elba Hevia y Vaca\, EAC Artist In Residence \nWORLD PREMIERE \nTEATRO ESPERANZA \n4/24/27\, 3:00pm \n$20 General Admission\, Free for Students & Seniors (60+) \nHacia La luz is a dance/ceremonial piece that explores Andean Cosmovisions. There is no specific moral structure—only a call toward harmony\, beauty\, and relationship. These concepts are brought forth by weaving together Bolivian ceremonial music\, and movement influenced by both flamenco and Hevia y Vaca’s ceremonial experiences. The performance invites the audience into participatory ritual\, using sound and dance to cross thresholds of perception and awaken deeper ways of knowing – embacing  spaces for community\, connection\, and reverence—where the sacredness of life can be honored through movement\, rhythm\, and shared presence. \nFood and Beverages are available for sale in the Teatro lobby courtesy of EAC’s official concession partner Helados Chupi Chupi. \nPart of VOCES: EAC’s VOCES series spotlights a different facet of Latin American culture and traditions each season. This year’s VOCES Series\, ¡BAILE! will feature dance from Latin America\, the Latin Caribbean\, and the Latin Diaspora. \nThis program was made possible thanks to the generous support of the William Penn Foundation\, Presser Foundation\, NewMusicUSA\, and the Philadelphia Cultural Fund.
