Feel the rhythm, flavor, and joy of summer – Latino style! Join us this July for a vibrant celebration with an outdoor concert performance of La Guagua 47 featuring the LaGuagua 47 Orchestra & Singers, Latin food, dancing, a local merchant fair, balloons, and fun for all ages.
La Guagua 47 is a one-of-a-kind community cultural production by Alba Martinez that tells a universal story of migration, belonging, and finding home in one another. Lucía is fifteen when her family loses everything and moves from the mountains of Puerto Rico to Philadelphia. She leaves behind her abuelita, her friends, and the only home she’s known. Feeling invisible in a new city, she boards the 47 bus — and meets a chorus of neighbors whose stories open her world. La Guagua 47 is a bilingual Latino musical about what it takes to belong.
Public Transportation: Esperanza is located along SEPTA Bus Line 47.
Parking: Free parking available at 4th and Bristol
Free and open to the public.
