Behind the Stage Door

Join us for a new way to experience ballet. Behind the Stage Door is an interactive multimedia performance that explores the “invisible” forces that bring the ballet to life. A multi-part experience, the program includes original musical composition, live dance, film, sculpture and multimedia stage design to illuminate the untold stories that are integral to Philadelphia Ballet.

Philadelphia Ballet II performs new choreography by Maria Konrad, Gary Jeter, Da’Von Doane, and Zecheng Liang to original music composed by John B. Hedges; the evening will also include an animated film produced by Big Picture Alliance, animated by Cybee Bloss and Alex Aldrich Barrett as well as set designs in partnership with Mural Arts.

Performances will be presented at 50% capacity in the Teatro and masks are recommended throughout the event, regardless of vaccination status. For Esperanza’s current COVID safety policies and restrictions, visit https://www.esperanza.us/esperanza-visitor/.
